The Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system is used to ensure accurate and timely billing for services such as Respite, Habilitation, Attendant Care, and DTA. To be paid for these services, providers must follow the guidelines for using the EVV system correctly.
We will train and assist providers to ensure proficiency in using the EVV system, helping them navigate the process effectively and confidently. By following these guidelines and receiving proper training, providers can ensure they are paid for the services they provide while remaining in compliance with HCBS program requirements.
Service Verification: Providers must use the EVV system to record each visit, including the date, time, and location of service delivery. This helps confirm that the service was provided as authorized.
Respite Services: Providers must log the start and end times of respite care, ensuring the system reflects accurate service hours provided to individuals in their care.
Habilitation and Attendant Care: For these services, providers need to document when they begin and end each session, noting the specific tasks performed during the visit. This ensures the work done aligns with the individual’s care plan.
DTA/DTT Services: For Direct Support and Behavioral Therapy services, providers must accurately log the start and end of each session, including any related activities. The system ensures proper tracking and billing for therapy services.
Accurate Entries: It's crucial that providers enter accurate information into the EVV system. Mistakes or missed entries can result in delays or denial of payment.
Timely Submission: Providers must submit their EVV data in a timely manner to ensure that billing is processed and payments are made without delays.
